AFRICA WILDLIFE PHOTO SAFARI JULY 2014scroll 'next' for all photos

We were escorted to our tents at night because the tented camps have no protective barrier against predators. I never felt in any danger, although you could hear the lions and hyenas all night long. I had to wonder, if we were attacked, would our 'Protector' really use that bow? Or would it be lying in a heap on the ground as the lion bounded over it to his tenderized American fare. Our Protector was happy to show us his prowess, but I think a package of bacon thrown out in the grass might have been a better deterrent.
